Heather’s Bloggy Give-A-Way April 23, 2008

I will be giving away one copy of “Fasting” by Jentezen Franklin! I have learned so much from this book i can’t wait to give someone else an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of knowledge you will have gained from it!

Here’s an excert from the first chapter…
…You know there’s more. You know there is an assignment for your life. You know there are things that God desires to release in your life, and there is a genuine desperation for those things gripping your heart. It was for you that this book was written. (Page 4 & 5)
To enter my first fabulous bloggy give-a-way here’s what you need to do:
1. Share with me the purpose that Lord has revealed to you for your life (I believe that He has many purposes for us in different seasons of life. I’m curious about what you know your’s is now.).
2. Tell me how this realization has changed you (Do you feel empowered? Did you set goals? Have you fasted for it? What about you or how you live has changed as a result of this knowledge?).
Then on May 4th, 2008 I will be drawing a name and contacting the winner! Be sure to give me a way to contact you in the event you win!
You can find out more about this book in the review i wrote here.
Happy Writings!
1. I really feel like I’m called to be a mommy. That’s it. I have been blessed with two beautiful daughters and the Lord has called me to raise them in His Will. And I try my best every day.
2. The funny thing is, I never really thought I wanted children. When my husband and I were first married we got pregnant and had a m/c. It was the absolute lowest I had ever been. And then my desire to have children grew and grew. The baby we were pregnant with was wanted and very much loved. And I knew then, that I was to be a mommy.
My social work degree will be put to use when I’m done rearing my babies.
There are many purposes the Lord has placed on my heart. My greatest ministry is my 5 children. I am a home school mommy and pray for more blessings. God has revealed to me all children are blessings, despite what the world portrays. I pray that my wombs is fruitful and healthy. Even though I am a miserable pregnant mommy.
I did on my own personal study on Fasting.
Thanks for the chance to win.

My purpose? Hmmm. Truthfully, I am not exactly sure. I know it has to do with teens, I am drawn to them and they to me. I have a houseful on a regular basis. I have 3 of my own (and one preteen) and an adopted 17 year old daughter. I think maybe my purpose is to love them - attempt to live a testimony in front of them - and always point them back to their Saviour when they get off track. After they’re grown? I have no idea.
1. I’m here to live a life that others might not be able to (life-long chronic illness) and be an example that life is still what one makes of it - I wouldn’t change my life for anything.
2. I’ve always known my purpose, I’ve always known I’ll never be given more than I can handle… and I’ve always known that giving back (by means of example to others) is what I’m here to do.
Thank you for participating and offering such an awesome prize - I’d like to invite you to enter my bloggy giveaway, too. Happy giving and getting!
My family is my first ministry. Recently though, God has really laid on my heart the homeless of our city. I am praying and seeking about how / what my part is… Have a blessed day!
Hi friend!
I actually dropped in after getting a nice little comment on me blog from you and thought, ‘hey, this is a good give-a-way . . . I’ll give it a whirl.’
By the way, we’re doing good. Thanks for the compliments of the pics of the zoo venture.
It was a load of fun!
I grew up being a pastor’s kid in a non-denominational church. That was 15 ye
ars of my life (age 10 on). So I was fully aware of “callings” and the like . . . all the religious jargen associated. I truly feel like my day in and day out, comings and goings, are what God has called me to. My eyes being focused on the one we were created to worship (Jesus) and letting the overflow of that . . . the fruits of being in HIS Spirit . . . effect my daily contacts and life. How I choose to treat my upstairs apartment neighbor is just as important as how I portray Jesus and HIS teachings in a message to thousands (I haven’t had the opportunity to do that, by the way). So I don’t have a clue what my “future” calling is . . . but I know what God has laid in my life and path to do today . . . raise my boys to truly know HIM, treat all humanity with the love and grace of our Saviour, and be the best wife possible. As for dreaming, I dream about going back to Africa as a missionary . . . to somehow be involved in placing orphans and bringing a solid and truthful knowledge of Jesus where hope seems depleted. If thats in the cards God has for me, so be it.
Fasting is important and I’ve participated before but my ideas and logic are a bit fuzzy. If I don’t win this give-a-way, I will most likely look into purchasing the book . . . sounds like its really effected you and your insight into fasting; I could use the same!
Alright . . . lots of words, sorry about that.
God Bless and have a great week!!

Well my blog can really tell you the story but in a few sentences maybe I can give you a idea. I believe my purpose is to help bring awarenss of premature birth to pregnant moms and instill in these women that no matter the outcome of there pregnancy, God gave them that child for a purpose and to cherish every moment. I’m also a huge advicate for March of Dimes. This being because I am the mom to a former 28 weeker, Tristan, who was born 12 weeks early but has showed me I can love the LITTLE things in life and life is a gift and too short to worry, ponder, or be mad all the time. I used to be this person…
Thanks!

This sounds like an interesting book. I feel my purpose is to love Jesus solely because of who He is - and as I fall deeper in love, I will desire to serve God and obey Him more. Working with the knowledge that relationships are key frees me from all the rules man has made.
1. Share with me the purpose that Lord has revealed to you for your life (I believe that He has many purposes for us in different seasons of life. I’m curious about what you know your’s is now.):
we just came back home after 5 years of working in a closed country. We were undecided as to how long we would continue to work there. After one year in the US we are DYING to get back to our field…for as long as possible.
2. Tell me how this realization has changed you (Do you feel empowered? Did you set goals? Have you fasted for it? What about you or how you live has changed as a result of this knowledge?).
This has helped me to have focus in my life. I didn’t fast b/c I have been pregnant/nursing. I fasted from TV or computer use but not food. My goal of getting back overseas is helping me trim away the irrelavant parts of my life.
I think my purpose is to be a good person and treat everyone I come in contact with with respect. KNowing this, it was helped me be more patient and caring and hopefully a nicer person overall.
My purpose right now is to be a mommy and a good wife to my pastor-hubby.
I am called to be a wife and mother and an example to those around me of love. most importantly though i am called to be in a relationship with Christ and my heart aches to know Him more and best of all my relationships…
I have been called to be a wife and Mom
i’ve been called to coach/encourage people. Its helped me to relax and just be. People ahve always come to me ..for me to listen to them and by listening I help them. its really rewarding
I feel that right now I have been called on to be a parent. I never thought I would want children, but I bwcame pregnant and was terrified yet very happy. When my husband and I went through the miscarriage, I realized that I did want children and I felt called to do it. I am not seven months pregnant and have had an easy pregnancy. I feel empowered and blessed. Being pregnant has helped me look at the world through different glasses. I think part of me being pregnant is for me to open my eyes and see the world beyond my little space and to try to make it better.
What an amazing thing to give away to others! I truly, truly believe in the act of fasting for answers to our prayers. In my church, we believe in fasting for 24 hrs. out of each and every month and we think about what it is that we need to pray and ponder about during those 24 hrs. Our children are taught this concept from childhood. I was put on this earth to be a mother. Anything else I do, aside from raising these 7 wonderful spirits and helping guide their children, is bonus (and I know that He gives me those bonuses to help me grow
